(Bill) Johnson
August 13, 1951 – March 21, 2022
The love of Dorcas's life, William (Bill) D. Johnson passed away at the Veterans Hospital of the Ozarks on March 21, 2022 at the age of 70 after a lengthy battle with cancer. The cancer might of beat him but he won the ultimate battle and gained his home in Heaven free of pain.
Bill was very honored to be in the Army and a Vietnam Vet. He served his country for 1 year in Vietnam and 1 1/2 years in Germany. Being honorably discharged in 1973. Bill was a 1970 graduate of Springdale High School. Bill retired from Northwest Medical Center in 2014.
Bill was born August 13, 1951 to Charles and Mary Sue Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Jerry, brother Bobby and Larry, son-in-law Nick Cunhs and mother and father-in-law Fred and Lois Bohannon. Bill was an active member of Springdale Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and served him wherever needed. When his illness prevented him from going to church, he was blessed do be able to watch it on his phone. He enjoyed listening to several pastors each Sunday.
Those left behind is his wife, Dorcas of 49 years whom he married on December 30, 1972. Daughter Nikki and husband, Keith Bell of Springdale Son Kevin Johnson of Springdale. Four grandsons Darrin Johnson, Nichlos Johnson, Wyatt Johnson and Levi Bell. Two well-loved and spoiled fur babies Molly and Brownie, who miss their daddy. Grand fur babies Jet and Tudi. Two brothers Albert Johnson and Darrel Johnson. Sister-in-law Judi Davis and husband Eddie. Alice Robbins and her son Shannon. Tons of cousins, nieces and nephews. Best friends Marilyn Simpso, Jeanelle Simpson and Diana Phillips whom he loved as sisters.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be Thursday, March 24th at Bill's church. Casual attire. In lieu of flower, memorials can be made to Springdale Missionary Baptist Church at

We would like to thank everyone for their prayers during his cancer fight. Also, thank you to the oncology staff at the VA and Highlands Oncology. To the nurses Brain, L'Donna and Tristen in the ICU at the VA who gave Bill excellent care and treated us like family. Also, the ENT staff and Palliative care for all the good care assisting is his pain control.
