Obituary

Wanda Williams, 83 of Springdale, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, March 7, 2024, surrounded by her entire family, hand in hand with the love of her life.  She was ushered into Heaven with the love and praise of her family. She was born May 2, 1940, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Minnie Macom Bailey and Curtis Paul Bailey.  And sister to the late Danny Ross Bailey.

Wanda was a deeply spiritual woman who shared this love with her family and friends.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was admired and loved by her entire family.  The impact of Wanda's unconditional love will be felt for generations to come.  She was beautiful, her smile and laugh were contagious and one of a kind. She made her house a home to all who entered her front door.  Her face would light up when the front door would swing open. You were welcome day or night, and she was always there waiting with a cup of coffee.  Her children and grandchildren call her home their "Safe Place".  Wanda loved her family, truly loved them, and made sure they knew it.  She loved having her house full.

Wanda was a homemaker, but that doesn't really sum up what her life meant.  She was a Wife, a Mother, a Nurse, a Friend, a Disciplinarian, a Guidance Counselor, and the Rock that brought stability to her family.  Wanda went to school in Harrison, Arkansas until her High School years, when she moved to Springdale, Arkansas with her parents.  It was here that she met her Soul Mate, Johnny.  She said when she saw him, she knew he was hers.  And, he was, for more than 66 years.  They married on July 31, 1958, in Ozark, Arkansas and settled in Springdale.  Theirs was an adventurous journey. They journeyed to California for several years before moving back to Springdale where they started their family.  Wanda went to Marsha Kay Beauty College in Mountain Home, Arkansas and owned her own Beauty Shop for several years.  She then worked for Wal-Mart and retired in 1995.  After retiring she cared for her mother and brother for several years.  Wanda was always a caregiver.  She was there for whatever ailment you had, whether it was physical, spiritual, or emotional.  Wanda raised her children, helped raise her grandchildren and loved her great grandchildren.  Wanda helped with after school pick up, dance class, football practice, baseball, and softball practices.  The consummate rock for all who needed her.
