Walter Joseph Donovan Jr. passed away on August 22, 2023 at his home in West Fork, Arkansas at the age of 60. Walter was born on July 25, 1963 in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Millard High School in 1981 and attended the University of Arkansas and later graduated from Bellevue University. Walter joined the Navy in 1986 and served until 1990. Walter married Janice Baxter of Lincoln, Arkansas in 1992.
Walter was a man of many qualities and hobbies. He was a habanero salsa connoisseur and loved all things with Heinz ketchup. He can be described as an avid Nebraska Husker fan, a self-proclaimed professional fisherman, an American history expert, and a family man who was treasured by many. Walter was always the man behind the camera making sure to capture the memories of his loved ones. He had an elation for living the easy life in the middle of the woods where the stars are seen clearly with his wife by his side. He is dearly missed by many.
Walter is survived by his wife, Janice, of West Fork, Arkansas and children Sarah Thibault (JD) of Bennington, Nebraska, Taylor Martinez (Dereck) of Tekamah, Nebraska, Jordan Donovan of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Kyle Donovan, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, grandchildren Addelyn, Benjamin, Emma, Brielle, Everly, Eden and Ezra and his siblings, Beverly Patterson and Pat Donovan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ardis Donovan.
Walter's family will host a celebration of life service at his home in West Fork, Arkansas on Saturday, September 2nd at 2:00pm.
