Valerie Jeanne Martin, 69, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord September 13, 2021. She was born March 11, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late James and Mable Harper. Valerie was of the Christian Faith and she loved the Lord. She enjoyed flowers, the beach and loved life. Most of all she loved her family, especially her granddaughter, Emerie. Along with her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by her sister, Karen D. Wood.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Stephens and his wife Sarah of Springdale, Arkansas; sisters, Judith Salas and husband Larry of Corrales, New Mexico, Sue Holt of Williams, Oregon, Janice Simmons of Gardendale, Alabama, Jennifer Gremmels of Foley, Alabama, Mary Hall of Warrior, Alabama; granddaughter, Emerie Stephens, several nieces and nephews, her very best friend, Carolyn Sheets and her cat Lottie.
