Sonja Elaine Swankier, 80, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on October 14, 2024 in Springdale.  She was born November 23, 1943, in Oakland, California, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Martha Berg Pearson.  She was retired from Con Agra Foods in Huntsville, Arkansas.  She enjoyed attending church services at First Baptist Church in Spring Valley Minnesota with her sister-in-law, Jenelle Pearson.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, David; two brothers, Carl and Ralph; son-in-law, Patrick; and two grandsons, Adam and Joshua.

She is survived by her children Brenda Granen and Phillip of Slidell, Louisiana; Joanna Peak and Richard of Springdale, Arkansas; and Keith Swankier and Tonya of Springdale, Arkansas; one brother, Stan Pearson of Brunswick, Georgia; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date in Spring Valley, Minnesota.  Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's or to Breast Cancer Research.
