Sherry Stevens, 78, of Springdale Arkansas, went to rejoice with The Lord the morning of December 11, 2023. Sherry was born in Siloam Springs AR on November 19, 1945 to Fred and Minnie Whittle Smith. She was married at the age of 16 to James "Jake" Stevens and they created a beautiful life together over the following 61 years. Sherry and Jake welcomed two sons into the world, Carl and James "Jimmy." As the boys grew, Sherry took a job at the local school in the cafeteria. Sherry spent 25 years as a beloved 'lunch lady' before taking a job with Walmart distribution, where she served until retirement. Retirement didn't suit Sherry at the time so back to school she went! She served an additional 8 years at Shaw Elementary where Jake was able to join her, daily. When they finally retired, they loved camping at Beaver Lake. They also volunteered with the Springdale Rodeo and had regular card nights with friends. One of Sherry's greatest joys was spending time with the children in her life. Her two little boys gave her 3 grandchildren, then, later, came 6 great grandchildren. Jake and Sherry's house was a place you wanted to be as a kid, and even, still, as an adult. The love inside their home is evident to all who visit. As years pass, life moves and changes, but one thing that never changed for Sherry was the love for her "kids" and neither did their love for her. Sherry was preceded in death by her Father, Fred Smith, Mother, Minnie Smith, Brothers Delmar, Johnny, Freddie and Jack Smith, Sisters Louise Misner, Violet McGowan, and Maxine Bookout.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband, James "Jake" Stevens, sons, Carl Stevens (Shelli) and James "Jimmy" Stevens (LaDonna), Brother, Joe Smith (Judy,) sister Marilyn Hale (Larry,) Grandson Chad Stevens (Sarah,) Morgan Aldridge (Kylee,) Shaunna Dyke (Levi) and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday Dec 14th at 10:00AM till 11:45AM, followed by graveside service at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale at noon.

Pallbearers: Chad Stevens, Kylee Aldridge, Levi Dyke, Robert Warren, Joey Hale and Grant Kirkpatrick.
