Ruth Rakestraw, 78, of Springdale went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2022. She was born August 17, 1943, the daughter of William Holtzclaw and Mildred Eunice.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She was a member of Sonora Baptist Church, and the North West Arkansas Writers Club.  Ruth was an avid reader and writer, and she was a published author as well as a talented artist.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Raymond Rakestraw.

Survivors include her children, Robin Ayres, Rob Ayres of Rogers, Becky Lewis, James Lewis of Springdale and Lee Rakestraw, Vicki Plowman of Tontitown. Five grandchildren, Michael Burgess, of Rogers, Jennifer Burgess of Rogers, Elizabeth Lewis, Fayetteville, Aaron Lewis, Farmington, and Rachel Yescas, Lowell.  She also had 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10:30AM at Sonora Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. No visitation is scheduled.
