Obituary

Rosemary McCarty, 91, of Springdale passed away on February 11, 2023 at her earthly home in Springdale.  She was born on June 18, 1931, in Huckleberry Mountain, near Havana in Logan County Arkansas to Frank and Esta (Barnes) Rogers.  Rosemary was a 1948 graduate of Santa Maria High School and obtained a two-year degree from Santa Maria Junior College in California.

Rosemary worshiped at Faith Baptist Church until she was unable to attend. Then she would listen to her son's sermons at First Baptist Church of Huntsville in addition to sermons from her church and Fellowship Bible Church in Russellville.  Rosemary was a strong believer, who studied God's scripture and had a serving heart.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence (Mac) McCarty who she married on August 12, 1953 in Paris, Arkansas.  They enjoyed a full and rich marriage for 42 years.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; eleven brothers and sisters.

She was a stay-at-home Mom raising two boys and occasionally working part-time at Cameron's Clothing store for life-long friends Charlie and Lois Cameron.  After Lawrence passed away in 1995, Rosemary continued her service to others through childcare for about four families.  She became "Grandma", "Gammy" "Robie" and other cherished names to these families that treated her like family.  These precious little babies she kept would often come back to see Rosemary as young adults to experience her special meals and other memories.

She is survived by two sons and wives, Jack and Janice McCarty of Huntsville, Arkansas and Jeff and Sheila McCarty of Pottsville, Arkansas; sister Frankie Martin of Ventura, California.   Rosemary used texting, calling, Facetime and Facebook to keep up with all her grandchildren who loved to come to Grandma's house.  (Josh & Jill McCarty, Jessica & Vinny King, Jena & Orry Lee, Jancy and Ryan King, and JayMac McCarty.)  She also loved and knew the personalities of all of her precious eleven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Feb 25, 2023 at Faith Baptist Church on Elm Springs Road with Pastor Jack McCarty and Pastor Josh McCarty officiating.  Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM Friday Feb 24, 2023 at the funeral home.
