Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Eugene Stockton, 78, of Tontitown, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1947, to Johnnie "Woody" Stockton and Lena Mantegani Stockton.

Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He carried the discipline and dedication he learned in the military throughout his life, becoming known for his extraordinary work ethic. A remarkably hardworking man, Ron rarely missed a day of work and took great pride in building his own home with his own hands. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie "Woody" Stockton and Lena Mantegani Stockton; his beloved wife, Elda Stockton; his son, Kevin Stockton and brother, Donald Stockton. A true outdoorsman, Ron found his greatest joy in hunting, fishing, and searching the woods for ginseng. He had a deep appreciation for nature and loved sharing his knowledge with others. Whether teaching practical skills or offering life lessons, Ron believed that some of the best learning came from doing things "the hard way." Ron was also an exceptional cook whose BBQ, pork chops, and especially his prime rib became favorites among family and friends. He enjoyed tending his garden and making his own wine and grape jack, taking pride in everything, he created. Family meant everything to Ron, and he treasured Sunday dinners, gatherings with loved ones, and vacations exploring the United States and Canada. One of his greatest recent joys was traveling to Italy and Switzerland with his family, creating memories that he cherished. Above all, Ron never met a stranger. He loved visiting with people, telling stories, and building friendships that lasted a lifetime.

He is survived by his devoted daughter, Caryn Stockton, of the home; his sisters, Glenda Stockton of Rogers, Arkansas, and Janet Stockton Taylor of Tontitown, Arkansas; his niece, Kellie Taylor; his granddaughter, Kristin Loveday and her husband, Justus; his cherished great-granddaughters, Stella and Ultra; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
