Robert Frederick Smith, 73 of Springdale went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18,2016. He was born September 13, 1943 in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Fred and Velma Smith.

He had been on the Elgin Illiois Fire Department for 24 years, promoted to Lieutenant August 14, 1979 before retiring in 1994 and relocating to Arkansas. He had received several honorable awards while on the Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Patricia Smith of the home, 4 daughters, Debi Fotenot of Ville Platte, Louisianna, Kris Prehn of Elgin, IL, Stormy Bouse of Farmington, Arkansas, Monica Disney of Fayetteville, Arkansas, 1 son, Eric Smith of Elgin, IL, and 2 step daughters, Desiree Roberts of Springdale, Arkansas and Angela Harrison of Springdale, Arkansasand 17 grandchildren.

Two sisters, Helen Heinrich (deceased) and Minerva Pollnow (deceased).

Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am December 31, 2016 at Freedom Fellowship Church, 990 West Henri de Tonti (412W) Springdale, Arkansas 72770 with Tom Doty and Garth Hill Officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Hope Cancer Resources.
