Padzuikas
September 9, 1938 – December 2, 2023
Paul Anthony Padzuikas, 85 of Rogers, AR went to be with his Lord on December 2,2023, at Hampton Place Nursing Home in Rogers, Arkansas. He was born September 9,1938, to Elise and Anthony Padzuikas at Melrose Park Illinois. He attended Joliet Township High School and graduated in the second graduating class from Lincoln-Way Community High School in New Lennox, Illinois in 1956. Paul was an avid high school athlete and lettered in basketball and track at Lincoln-Way. He also played fast pitch softball as a first baseman and pitcher. His interest in sports was highlighted by a runner up finish in the Illinois Sports Festival in 1956 and playing for the Manhattan Shadows for several years.
He moved to Alaska in 1964 and he and his wife Anne lived there for 32 years before retiring to Rogers in Northwest Arkansas in 1996. During his time in Alaska Paul began shooting skeet competitively. He was selected to the All-Alaska State Team in 1975 and his team competed at the World Shoot in San Antonio, Texas. Paul's marksmanship earned him six bronze, one silver and one gold medal in international competition. Paul was an accomplished and nationally recognized wood carver and water colorist. He began shorebird wood carving in 1972. His commissioned carvings and paintings grace the collections of many collectors throughout the United States.
He was associated for seven years, with NatureWorks, Inc., a non-profit community service organization that annually sponsors a show-sale each spring in Tulsa, Oklahoma featuring works by nationally recognized wildlife artist, carvers and sculptors. Paul was a member of Ducks Unlimited and a lifetime member of the alumni association for the University of Alaska Anchorage where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He is proceeded in death by his wife Anne, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage; and, by their only child and daughter Toni Lee who passed at age 15.
Per Paul's wishes there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home
