Obituary

Nancy Marie Blocker of Elms Springs, Arkansas passed away at home on July 16, 2026. She was born to the late Wilbur “Snow” and Rosemary Wendt in Benton Harbor, Michigan on January 12, 1949. Nancy married Mike Blocker, and together they were blessed with four children. Although they later separated, Nancy and Mike remained lifelong friends. Family was the center of Nancy's life. Her grandchildren were among her greatest blessings, who lovingly called her Ama. She cherished every opportunity to pick them up and spend the day "piddling around" together. She was always on the go, whether she was searching antique stores for hidden treasures, tending to her flowers, or enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Later in Life, she met Gary Gordon, spending more than 30 years together. They enjoyed taking trips over to the casino to try their luck at the slot machines. Nancy also enjoyed gathering with her family around the table to play cards. She found joy in life's quiet moments. Nancy loved sitting on her front porch with a cup of coffee, reminiscing about her childhood and sharing stories with those she loved. Her garden, especially her irises, brought her great happiness, and she delighted in watching the birds that visited. Even the neighborhood's feral cats seemed to know they had found a safe haven with Nancy. She was very thoughtful, quick-witted and full of life. A gifted seamstress and crocheter, Nancy often made Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Last week she had the opportunity to visit Michigan, surrounded by family, she truly felt at home, making the visit a cherished final memory for those she loved. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Bruce Wendt.

She is survived by Gary Gordon; her children, Eric Jon Blocker and Tamitha of Huntsville, Arkansas, Tracy Blocker of Lowell, Arkansas, Andi Acuff and Frankie of Elm Springs, Arkansas, Dan Blocker and Theresa of Bella Vista, Arkansas; grandchildren, Taylor Erickson and Brittney, Leigh Smith and T.J., Hailey England, Lauren Blocker, Charlie Acuff and Meredith, Hayden Blocker, Henry Acuff, Karstyn Shiew, Murray Acuff, Rosie Jo Acuff; great-granddaughter, Georgia Grace Acuff; siblings, Mike Wendt, David Wendt, Rosanne Stroud, Jeff Wendt and Missy, Valerie Schleper and Mike, Rita Mitchell and Chris, Steve Wendt and Lisa Terry; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
