Obituary

Marvin H.B. Hill, age 94, of Springdale passed away on Thursday December 2, 2021, at the Northwest Medical Health Center in Springdale, AR. He was born to parents Trevor and Selma Hill on February 14, 1927 in New Haven, MO.  Marvin was drafted by the U.S. Army and was a Veteran. After receiving an Honorable discharge, he began his career as a salesman in the food distribution industry. His time at Mid-Central Sysco Foods had him and his family relocate to both Missouri and Arkansas. After a successful career in the business world, he retired to Springdale, AR. Painting became his new passion and made him an award-winning artist in the NWA area. His love for people and gifted talent allowed him to lead a weekly fine arts class at the Springdale Hobby Lobby for over 14 years. Marvin loved basketball, football and golf and especially enjoyed watching the Arkansas Razorbacks and Missouri Tigers. He was a member of the National Avenue Christian Church of Springfield, MO.

Marvin is survived by his daughter Carolyn Higgs and husband Mike of Fayetteville; four grandchildren; Adam Higgs and wife Melanie of Farmington, Stephanie Higgs of Fayetteville, Scott Higgs and wife Meredith of Rogers; Wes Hill and wife Stacci of Springdale; six great grandchildren; Alexia Higgs of Fayetteville; Namiya Williams of Branson, MO;  Alexander Higgs of Rogers; Tyler Higgs of Farmington; Audrey Tipton and husband Tyler of Tulsa, OK; Jaccob Hill of Springdale; one great great grandchild Ly'niah Tasco of Fayetteville; sister Darleen Kassen from Ponca City, Oklahoma and numerous other extended family in the Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri area. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years Mary Helen Hill and son Gary Wayne Hill of Fayetteville.

Graveside service will be 10:30AM Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville with Military Honors under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Phil McMichael from Cross Church will conduct both services. Family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale
