Loren Edwin Gross, 89, of Clarence, Missouri, formerly of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord March 6, 2024 in Clarence, Missouri. He was born January 11, 1935, in Callao, Missouri, the son of Artie and Marguerite Agee Gross. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Springdale, Arkansas where he was dearly loved by his church family. As a young adult, he worked as a telegraph operator for the Sante Fe Railroad and as a plant manager for Heatube-Maytag in Clarence, Missouri where he met his wife, Lodema. They moved to Springdale, Arkansas where he worked at Easco Hand Tools as a supervisor until he retired. While at Easco he helped organize the Union for the employees. After retirement, he played golf, went metal detecting and did delivering for Zip. He also volunteered at the Veterans Hospital. Loren and Lodema bought a motor home and they traveled all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. He served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. He was a free Mason. He is preceded by his parents; his wife, Lodema Myer Gross in 2016; a sister, Colleen Monroe; two step-sons, Jerry Griffin and Garry Griffin and a great grandson, Chance Griffin.
He is survived by five grandchildren: Jeanna Griffin Stevenson, Jennifer Griffin ,Casey Griffin and wife April all of Clarence, Missouri, Tracy Grifin and wife Angelica, and Jerry Ray Griffin and wife, Devri both of Springdale, Arkansas; niece Nancy Monroe of Brookfield, Missouri and nephew John Monroe of Columbia, Missouri; nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Tuesday March 12, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762 with Micky Merrick officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Alabam Cemetery, 355 Arkansas-127, Huntsville, Arkansas 72740. Pallbearers will be Casey Griffin, Tracy Griffin, Jacob Carless, Brett Griffin, Jeff Marshall, Tristan Griffin and Jerry Ray Griffin. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 6504, Springdale, Arkansas 72766.
