Leonard (Red) Mathis McAbee, 85, of Lincoln, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord November 26, 2021 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  He was born June 7, 1936, the son of the late Joseph and Bessie Trammel McAbee, in Gaffney, South Carolina.  He was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army.  He retired from Tyson Foods after 27 years.  He enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, belt buckles and coins and spending time with his family.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his wife, Reba Jane McAbee; Rick Allen, his nephew, who he raised and also five siblings.

He is survived by four sons: Jim Gordon and his wife, Anita, of Rogers, Arkansas, Kevin McAbee and his wife, Annett, of Hindsville, Arkansas; Randy McAbee and his wife, Joni, of Lincoln, Arkansas and Justin McAbee of Lincoln, Arkansas; two daughters: Sheila Moyers of Bentonville, Arkansas and Rita Harrell of Florida; one niece, Marie Bowman and her husband, Stewart, of Anderson, Missouri; one sister, Betty Matthews of South Carolina; nineteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday, December 3, 2021, at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.  Burial with military honors will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery, Elm Springs, Arkansas.  Visitation will be Friday, December 3, 2021, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Funeral Home until service time. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bowman, Aaron McAbee, Justin McAbee, Michael Woods, Stormi Hankins, Reise Hankins, Cody McAbee and Tony Wiltgen.
