Karl Eldon Martens, 82, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord July 17, 2021. He was born May 30, 1939 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, to the late, Eldon and Marie Jantz Martens. Karl was of the Christian faith. He has served in the United States Army and had retired as a police officer from The Springdale Police Department after twenty years of service. He then went on to work for the Federal Marshalls retiring after another fifteen years of service. Karl enjoyed fishing and playing golf but he truly loved his daily coffee time at Neal's Cafe in Springdale. Along with his parents, Karl was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Martens, and brothers, Leland and Jay Martens.

Karl is survived by his son, Robert Martens of Dallas Texas; daughters, Vickey Gage and husband David Baughman of Springdale, Arkansas, Kristie Bean and husband Jeff of Springdale, Arkansas; brother, Jerry Martens and wife Debbie of Goshen, Arkansas; sister, Karleen King of Springdale, Arkansas, grandchildren;  Aaron, Taylor, Brandon, Colton, Riley, Lauren and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Graveside services with honors by the Springdale Police Department will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale with Chaplain Cade Curry and Chuck King officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue Springdale, Arkansas 72762. There will be no visitation.
