Johnnie Lee Shipley, born at home in Winslow, Arkansas on October 17, 1934, gently passed from this life in the care of Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Arkansas, on January 29, 2024.  "John", as he was known by his friends and family, worked in the field of agricultural industry most of his life for such companies as Tyson Foods, Wilson Foods, and Barnhill Poultry Supply. He enjoyed watching old Western movies and sporting events on television, and loved his Arkansas Razorbacks. John also loved to read, and spent many hours researching the history of his birthplace and sharing that information with others.

John is survived by three sisters, Kathleen Pryor, Henrietta Brookshire, and Joan Pence; one daughter, Pam Sarhan; one son, John Shipley; two stepsons, Steven Johns and Billy Johns; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be February 2, 2024, from 10 a.m. until Noon, at Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowwood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Cemetery, Winslow, Arkansas.  The family request that  contributions be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72762
