Obituary

Johnie Allen McGaugh, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Springdale, Arkansas, on September 30,2026, at the age of 87. He was born August 12, 1939, in Milan, Michigan, to Emma (Smith)McGaugh and Johnie Vernon McGaugh. Johnie will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, quick sense of humor, and the love he gave to those around him. A hardworking and determined man, he founded McGaugh RV and spent decades in the RV industry, taking great pride in the business he built and the people he served and worked alongside. Johnie and his wife, Carolyn (Bohannan) McGaugh, shared 68 years of marriage and a life full of family and adventure. Some of their happiest times were spent traveling the country in their RV, including an unforgettable trip all the way to Alaska. For Johnie, the miles along the way meant as much as any destination.

He loved the freedom of the outdoors and was happiest on the trails, whether in his Jeep, on a four-wheeler, or in his UTV. Mill Creek Farm held a special place in his heart. There he enjoyed the land, the quiet moments, and time spent with family and loved ones. The memories made there will always be treasured. Above all, Johnie loved his family. His laughter, stories, wisdom, and familiar presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in his family, the business he built, the trails he explored, and the stories that will be shared for years to come.

Johnie is survived by his wife, Carolyn; his children, Ron McGaugh (Janie), Brian McGaugh (Stacy), and Lisa McGaugh; his grandchildren, Kimberly Brown, Michael Horn, Neil McGaugh, Carley McGaugh, and Allison Lawson; nine great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

No service is planned at this time. Details will be shared at a later date. The family suggests donations to a charity of one's choice. The family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support of all who knew and cared for Johnie.
