Joe Carney Slay, age 69, of Bentonville, went to be with the Lord October 28, 2018. He was born July 09, 1949 in Fayetteville, Arkansas the son of the late Julius Cornelius and Ida Pelts Slay. Joe was of the Baptist faith. He and his wife Mary Ann were owner/operators of Sunny Days Small Engine Repair in Bentonville for many years and he loved fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2010.

He is survived by his son, Joe Carney Slay, Jr. of Bentonville, Arkansas; sisters, Julia Ann Kesner of Centerton, Arkansas and Linda Lee Bilderback of Springdale, Arkansas; his grandson, Aaron Carney Slay of Claremore, Oklahoma and a host of extended family and friends.

Joe will be buried alongside his wife in Elm Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. There will be no public services or visitation.
