JoAnne Artripe, 77, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord October 09, 2023. She was born January 15, 1946 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Bert and Janeace Barker. JoAnne graduated nursing school in 1966. She started her 55 year nursing career in the new born nursery. She went on to train LPN students before spending the next 12 years in long term care nursing homes. In 1986 she began clinical nursing were she spent the next 35 years until she retired in 2021. JoAnne loved being a nurse and taking care of people. Over her career she took care of many generations of families.
JoAnne loved life and saw the beauty in all that surrounded her. She was a fantastic cook and if you ever had the pleasure of eating one of her meals you would never forget it. She loved her family with all of her heart. She was also an avid gardener. Her home was always surrounded by roses, ferns and beautiful arrangements that she had created. She loved being outside with her dog Jude and she loved to travel. She and her daughter Heather were often on adventures big and small. They often took Sunday drives through the country. Some of her favorite places to travel to were Kansas City, New Orleans, San Antonio and Rock Port Texas. She was always up for an adventure.
Along with her parents, JoAnne was preceded in death by her sister, Janeace Henry; Nephew, Chase Henry; great nieces, Jamie and Molly McClure; Aunt, Nellie King; Marjorie Henry and Catlin Keck and numerous family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Heather Artripe and her very special son, Raley Rogers; brother-in-law, Larry Henry; niece, Michelle McClure; nephew, James McClure; great niece, Kelsey Choate and great nephew, Jeremy Choate and countless other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 13, 2023 in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Rice officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will follow in Silent Grove Cemetery in Springdale.
