Gerri Malone Shope, 74, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away October 16, 2018. She had been in Hospice care after several strokes. She was born August 6, 1944, the daughter of Romie and Helen Malone. She earned a Master's degree in education from Texas A&M University and committed her life to teaching kindergarten children for thirty years in Texarkana, Arkansas. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, Romie and Helen Malone.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelley Shope Keith and husband David of Springdale, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kade William Keith and Helen Klare Keith also of Springdale and by William Lether Shope Jr., who has been her caregiver for the last few years. The family would like to thank the staff of Circle of Life Hospice and asked that memorials be made to Circle of Life Hospice 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72762 in her name.

There will be no public services and final resting place will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Texarkana, Texas. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
