Obituary


George Raymond English passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was surrounded and supported by family, during the last days of his life. He was able to give a final goodbye, with a kiss, to his loving wife, Diane. George was born October, 24, 1939 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. George proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting at the young age of 16 and dedicating nearly 20 years to military service. After retiring from the Navy, he continued serving others through his work with the VA, as a business administrator. He was a proud member of the VFW and the American Legion. George enjoyed spending time on the golf course and was an avid sportsman. In his spare time, he loved watching classic Westerns. George was a member of the Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville. He also loved his Arts Place and his OTM friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

George is survived by his wife, Diane English of the home; sons, David Lawson and wife, Carla, of Washington, Jerry Lawson and wife, Connie, of Springdale, Arkansas, Charles Lawson and wife, Sheila, of Springdale, Arkansas, Nathan Lawson and wife, Glenda, of Springdale, Arkansas; brother, John English and wife, Sandy, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and loved-ones.
