IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gayle Joanne
Snider
February 18, 1953 – October 13, 2022
Gayle JoAnne Snider, 69, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to Heaven on October 13, 2022. She was born February 18, 1953, in Ennis, Texas, the daughter of the late Norman and Dorothy Jansa Gorton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her brother, Roger Gorton.
Gayle made many accomplishments during her life. She graduated from Springdale High School in 1971 where she was in band, choir and a friend to all of her classmates. She helped plan the 20 year class reunion and some may remember the elderly Olympics, especially the hula-hoop part. While in school, she worked at KBRS radio station. Gayle and her sister, Sharon, were extras in the Great Passion Play. After graduation from high school, she worked in a bridal shop and a jewelry store and then joined the United States Army. After basic training, she was sent to California to the Army Language School where she was trained to be a translator. After her discharge from the Army, she had a phone room in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she sold coupon books of discounts and special offers from local merchants. Gayle was a member of LaSertoma International in the Springdale, Arkansas Club and helped raise money to support hearing test and buy hearing aids for children. When Hurricane Gilbert, the first hurricane to go so far inland, hit Monterrey, Mexico, the Springdale Chapter of LaSertoma started a relief project involving the community to collect needed items filing a semi-trailer which was transported to Mexico by Jones Truck Lines. Gayle was honored by the Club for her work in accomplishing this task. Gayle attended Shepherd's Chapel Church in Gravette, Arkansas where she was in the choir. She had a website, YH's Table, where she posted Bible studies. She enjoyed playing bingo and going fishing and was employed by Sears when she became disabled. After her disability progressed, she enjoyed watching fishing shows, any singing competition shows and playing games on her phone. She greatly enjoyed ministering to people and told many of her healthcare workers about a near death experience she had at the age of 5 and described how wonderful Heaven was.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Danny Joe Snider, of Springdale, Arkansas and one sister, Sharon Gorton Kowalski, of Enid, Oklahoma.
There will be no service as this was Gayle's request. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
