Fay Abbott, 90, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021 at his home in Hindsville, Arkansas. Fay was born February 28, 1931 to John Morey Abbott and Cecil Kester Abbott in Stilwell, Oklahoma, second oldest of seven children. He worked the farm with his dad and grandpa Abbott, then moved to Missouri working at the sawmill with his dad. He then served in the Marine Corp for ten years and was honorably discharged in 1960. He worked different places until he went to work at Nooter Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri. He loved his family and helping others. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and in later years tinkering with stuff. Fay was preceded by his wife, Eva M. Abbott, July 25, 2016, his older sister, Irene Williams and younger brother, William Abbott.
He is survived by seven children: Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Nilsa) Rogers of Lamar, Arkansas; Luis Velez of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Mr. and Mrs. Christopher (Joyce) Smith of Hindsville, Arkansas; Mr. Warren Abbott of Springerville, Arizona; Mr. and Mrs. Jason (Lorraine) Wilhite of Cunningham, Tennessee; Mr. Ed Abbott of Columbus, Ohio; and Mr. and Mrs. Will (Denise) Abbott of Granite, Illinois; four siblings; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, August 16, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Springdale Fellowship Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4001 Don Tyson Parkway, Springdale, Arkansas 72762. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
