Obituary

Donna Lou Garton, 81, of Lowell, Arkansas, passed peacfully September 26, 2019. She was born June 12, 1938 in Greene County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Porter Rambo. She was also preceded in death by her brother Gary Rambo. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Congregation of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall and she was a homemaker. Donna graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1956 from Republic High school. Donna lost her short struggle with Cancer and passed away peacefully. Glen was the love of her life and she was the love of his for 63 years. They always did everything together and were inseperable. Donna was certainly a people person, and found fulfillment in going to the Kingdom Hall and visiting brothers and sisters. There are a lot of things that she enjoyed in life including going on camping trips with her family, gardening, with her favorite vegetable being onions, which she could never get enough of. She also enjoyed clipping out recipes, whether she used them or not. She and her grandson Austin took many trips to flea markets and garage sales. She would "Cabbage on" to what others did not want. Glen and Donna cherished Austin and it gave them great joy to spoil him with their time and love. Donna's son-in-law Paul, loved to give her a hard time and tease her and Donna would do it right back and that was their "Love Language". Of course, she loved her daughter Lorena and they were the best of friends and shopping buddies. Donna would see any design that Lorena had in mind from curtains to bed skirts to pillows and you name it, she could sew it. The family wishes to give special thanks to the tremendous outpouring of support from her friends and family and all the brothers and sisters from the Kingdom Hall and the Hospice staff. (Donna would want you to know that she loves you and though you might be sad I am in Jehovah's memory awaiting the Resurrection. That I have met my goal! ). Ecclesiastes 7:1: A good name is better than good oil and the day of death is better than the day of birth. .

She is survived by her husband, Glen Garton of the home; daughter, Lorena Wood and her husband Paul of Rogers, Arkansas; grandson, Austin Wood of Fayetteville, Arkansas; nephew, Brian Rambo and his wife Cindy of Brookline, Missouri; nieces, Marlean Rambo of Brookline, Missouri and Jennifer Knakmuhs of Independence, Missouri.
