Donald Edward Thomas, 83, of Hazel Valley, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord December 9, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  He was born October 4, 1940 in Health, Arkansas, the son of Lester and Martha Taylor Thomas.  He retired from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department where he was a state inspector.  He faithfully attended and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Durham, Arkansas where he was a deacon and served on various boards of the church.  He enjoyed reading the Bible, walking, deer hunting, hunting for ginseng and spending time with his family.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded by one brother, Larry Thomas, and one sister, Marlene Thomas.

Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Reva Fraley Thomas, of the home; one son, Donald Lee Thomas, of Hazel Valley, Arkansas; two daughters: Donna Thomas and Sandy Thomas both of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two brothers: Jerry Thomas and Anna of Japton, Arkansas and Hank Thomas of Greenland, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Chad Sisson, Mitchell Sisson, Michael Thomas, Daniel Walker, Albert Bramlet, Ashleigh Hutsell and Jeanetta Thomas; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Freewill Baptist Church, 11540 South Highway 16, Elkins, Arkansas 72727 with Pastor Dave Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Brannon Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.  Pallbearers will be Chad Sisson, Mitchell Sisson, Michael Thomas, Daniel Walker, Albert Bramlet and Ashleigh Hutsell.  No visitation is scheduled.
