David Lee Wagnon passed away at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, AR, on May 4, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born at home at 594 W Prospect St. in Fayetteville, AR, on May 3, 1939, to Myrtle Marie (Andre) and Pete Wagnon. David graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1958, and enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1957-1963 on the U.S.S. Gearing (DD-710). After his discharge from service, he married Barbara Faye Osburne on April 17, 1964. They had two children, Heather Ann and Jason Alan, and settled in Farmington, AR. Mr. Wagnon is preceded in death by both of his parents and three brothers: Ervin Garland Wagnon, Lloyd Donald Wagnon, and James Richard Wagnon, as well as his son, Jason Alan.David was a member of Grace Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville from 1966-2026 and taught adult Sunday school many of those years. He also served as an Elder in the church and was granted Elder Emeritus status in 2024.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Wagnon and daughter Heather Plunkett (Wagnon). Burial will be in Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
