Obituary

Dale Keith Cox, 63, of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away December 8, 2020 at Mercy Hospital. Dale was born April 16, 1957 in Paris, Arkansas, to Richard and Edith Rae Cox. He grew up working on the family farm after school each day in Cox Valley and went on to major in agriculture business at Arkansas Tech University. He married his high school sweetheart, Sheryl Chastain, of Branch Arkansas, in 1977. After graduating from Arkansas Tech, Dale worked at The Courier in Russellville, Arkansas, before opening Sound Investments, a local music store, alongside his brother. Dale and Sheryl moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2008, where Dale began working in accounting at Samaritan Community Center. In 2010, he joined the Community Health and Research team at UAMS where he worked for more than 10 years. He retired the week before Thanksgiving. Throughout his life, Dale was an avid musician, having composed and recorded dozens of songs. He served as worship leader in various churches he attended throughout the years, most recently at Calvary Chapel in the Ozarks. He loved Jesus, his family, spreading joy through his contagious smile, and playing music with a group of friends, The Old Dawgs. Dale is preceded in death by his parents.

In addition to his loving wife, Sheryl Cox of the home; Dale is survived by his sons, Reuben Cox and wife, Haley, of Rogers and Jerome Cox and wife, Kelsey, of Little Flock. He is also survived by a sister, Aletta Davenport and husband, Vondal, of Charleston, a brother, David Cox and wife, Nancy, of Russellville. Dale also is survived by his adoring grandchildren, Kalyn, Kiley, Cameron, and Miles, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Clark's Church Cemetery in Cox Valley, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, December 12 in the chapel of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.  The family requests donations be made to Samaritan Community Center at samcc.org/donate. Samaritan Community Center is constructing a new building, and donations will go toward naming a space in Dale's honor.
