Billie Jean Sparks, 84, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in Elm Springs, Arkansas. Born April 21, 1941, in Elkins, Arkansas she was the daughter of Eliza Worley and William Thomas Myers. She lived a life marked by devotion, service, and love, leaving behind a family that is better because of her and will miss her every day until they are joined again. On May 26, 1959, she married the love of her life, Lester Sparks. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment and partnership, a steady foundation that carried them through the seasons of life. Together they built a family rooted in faith, hard work, and unconditional love. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son in law Tony Satterfield, and a great grandson. Billie loved Jesus with all her heart. She loved the Bible, read it faithfully, and shared it freely with anyone who would listen. Her faith was not quiet or hidden. It showed up in her words, her service, her cooking, her prayers, and the way she treated people. She did not just talk about love. She lived it every day.
In her early years, Billie worked in cafés, serving others with the same warmth that would later define her entire life. After marrying Lester, she devoted herself to her home and children. Truth be told, she never stopped mothering anyone who needed it. If you were hungry, she fed you. If you were weary, she made you sit down. If you were hurting, she loved you until the pieces fit back together. She had a collector’s heart. She loved cookbooks filled with promise, hymnals worn from faithful singing, and every knickknack her grandchildren placed in her hands. To anyone else they might have been small things. To her, they were treasures. She loved with her whole heart. She served anyone who walked through her door. She shared her faith without hesitation. We trust she is rejoicing in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly. Her hands may be at rest, but the love and faith she planted continue to grow in the generations that follow.
She is survived by her husband, Lester Sparks of Elm Springs, Arkansas. Her three siblings Steve Myers, Phillip Myers, and Carol Williams. Her legacy lives on in her three daughters, Brenda Jean Kowalski and her husband John of Owasso, Oklahoma, Sandra Kay Satterfield of Springdale, Arkansas, and Lisa Ann Harvey and husband Lowry of Elm Springs, Arkansas. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and fourteen great great grandchildren, each one a living testament to the life she poured out so freely.
A graveside service will be, 11:00am Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Elm Springs Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled. The family requests that donations in her name go to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
