IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angela Layne
Lamoureux
October 1, 1983 – April 29, 2024
Angela Layne Lamoureux of Benton was carried from this life into eternity to be with Jesus on Monday, April 29, 2024 after a long-suffering battle with Huntington's Disease. She passed under the care of Arkansas Hospice at Chi St Vincent Hospital in Little Rock with her mother and father at her side holding her lovingly throughout. Angie was born October 1, 1983 in Fayetteville to Pamela (Clark) Bohannan and Richard M. Lamoureux, JR.
Angie attended her school years in Springdale, graduating from SHS in 2001. She attended classes at the U of A and majored in elementary education. She did her student teaching in Rogers. But a career in teaching was not in Angie's future. She'd inherited a rare disease from her father, Huntington's Disease, which would drastically affect her health and the rest of her life.
Angie was such a happy person. Everyone knew her by her smile. She lived her life in a way that strengthened and encouraged while bringing all the glory to God. She never got to experience so many things that we all take for granted. Yet, she never complained about her disease, her inabilities, her misfortune or her suffering. She had such a happy, joyous heart. She loved Church and she loved to praise our amazing Lord with worship songs and absorbing the scripture in her heart.
Angie was very involved in raising awareness of Huntington's disease. She participated in a research program for Gait Study at UAMS Neurology and Movement Disorders Department. She was also an avid volunteer for the annual fundraiser for HD, Arkansas Team Hope Walk. She raised thousands of dollars over many years. She led the Walk of 2022 using her specially built walker for HD patients. But by the 2023 Walk, she could only participate by being pushed in a wheelchair.
She was preceded in death by her father in 2005, her grandparents, Opal Clark and Dick and Betty Lamoureux SR, aunt and uncle, Carylon Clark Cox and James Cox, aunt Jeanne Lamoureux Miller and cousin, Nick Miller.
She is survived by her mother and father, Pamela Clark Bohannan and Don Bohannan, and brother, Brad Bohannan (Amber), nieces Laci, Megan and Brynn all of Benton. Also surviving, a very special cousin and her fiancé,Rae Neisen and Dewayne Cole of Russellville, paternal aunts and uncles, Cindy(Pat) Enright of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, Deena (Larry) Brandenburg of Oklahoma City, and many loving cousins. Maternal survivors include uncle and aunt, David and Ginny Clark, cousins, Kathy (Mark) Snodgrass, Jamie (Doyle) Faubus, Meghann Faubus, Karissa(Vic) Rudsell, Layne and Logan, James Hutchins, Carolyn, Gage, Alexia and Jacob Duncan all of Northwest Arkansas. In addition, special step aunts and uncles, Carolyn and Johnnie McGaugh, Bob(Gloria) Bohannan, and Mike(Brenda) Bohannan of Springdale. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters in Christ and many friends.
We want to extend a multitude of thanks to her neurologist and dear friend of 10 years, Dr. Tuhin Virmani, UAMS Little Rock.
