Alma Nell Criswell, 91, of Barling, Arkansas, formerly of Springdale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord June 30, 2021. She was born March 3, 1930, in Spur, Texas, the daughter of the late William and Alice Jones Smith. She was a member of Berry Street Baptist Church and was retired from Montgomery Ward where she had worked as a sales clerk. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and had recently become very good at painting pictures. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and taught an adult Bible class after moving to Barling. She was a devoted preacher's wife for many years, a loving mother and grandmother and a loyal friend to many people. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by one sister, three brothers, and her husband, James Criswell in 2011.
She is survived by one son, James Michael Criswell and his wife, Debbie, of Tulia, Texas; two daughters: Paula Kay Ayers and her husband, Roger, of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Ronda Dian Hutchins and her husband, Scott, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Private family graveside service will be Monday, July 12, 2021 at 11:30 A.M. at Fayetteville National Cemetery with Jason Walters officiating under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home, 3926 Willowood Avenue, Springdale, Arkansas 72762. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
